So much to love here. First of all, there’s a school called Astronaut somewhere in this great country of ours. That is fantastic. Second of all, there’s a quote in here from “TJ, a player’s boyfriend”. I’m looking forward to more of these reports.

Astronaut vs. Edgewood

Energy was high as the Varsity Girls’ basketball team faced off against Astronaut at home on Tuesday.

In the first two minutes of the game, Mariah Biddle, 11, made the first shot. The game proceeded with Astronaut getting a point and then Edgewood.

Risa Pinto, 12, also made a two pointer in the first half. It was eight for Astronaut and five for the Indians in the first quarter of the game.

“The girls are working great, but they need to step it up if they want to win tonight,” JT, a player’s boyfriend, said.

The girls worked hard to stay in line with the Warrior Eagles. Alexis Ellis shot two free throws in a row. Edgewood was racking up the free throws the entire game. Biddle and Pinto kept making the free throws. They fought to get a winning score the whole game.

“They need more than free throws to make them win this game,” Kimberly Ruett, 8, said.

Caroline Skahn, 12, made two two-pointers in the second and third quarter of the game. It was 25 to 15 in the second quarter.

“I have a feeling we aren’t going to win. Tt’s too late in the game to make a comeback,” Brianna Peek, 9, said.

Just as the game came to an end, Sofia Vives, 8, made the last two-pointer of the game. The game ended with Astronaut winning 55 to 32.
